The rain didn't keep the Third graders from celebrating Arbor Day last Friday! Thank you to the City of Bloomington for honoring our school by planting a beautiful tree! We spent the morning singing, reading poems, and learning about how many trees our city takes care of. Despite the wet weather, spirits were high and the rain only added to the excitement! We're so proud of our students for their enthusiasm and commitment to making our world a little bit greener! 🌍 🌳

Mrs. McClure's class got to share their STEM arcade with their buddies.
Mrs. K's 2nd grade has been learning about early explorers and colonies. Last week they were given the challenge to try to "pack" a ship with necessary supplies for a 3 month voyage to the New World using a list of possible items and their approximate weights. However, the challenge was to stay under 800 lbs so their ship would not sink. And even harder...if they stayed afloat, to have the rest of the class vote to actually be willing to take the long trip on their ship! Congrats to our winning ship, Duck Duck!🥳
8th grade finished up their unit using the Raspberry Pi Circuitboards. Mr. Billingsly generously donated his time and resources. Our end project was a python coded LED stop motion video and a taste of Raspberry Pi!

Our 3rd graders had a fantastic time at Illinois Wesleyan University! Not only did they do a terrific job creating their 3D creations in the MakerGirl Space, they also had the opportunity to do several science experiments in the Chemistry Lab!
