Notes and News

Registration is now open. Come join the Corpus Christi family now!

"May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us."

--- St. Teresa of Avila

Important Box Tops for Education - Clip Away! - UPDATE

THANK YOU to everyone who has been sending in box tops.  We have collected $886 worth of box tops so far this school year, but we still need more to reach our goal of $2,000 by June.  See general information below:
Clip the box tops from eligible products including Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Green Giant, General Mills and Betty Crocker products. To view the entire list of eligible products, visit the Box Tops 4 Education website. Each box top is worth 10¢ and our school can earn up to $20,000 per year.

There are collection boxes for the box tops located at both St. Patrick of Merna and Holy Trinity parishes, and students are welcome to turn into their classroom teacher as well. Ideally, the box tops will be cut neatly and zip-lock bagged in groups of 50, but we will gladly take them however you would like to send them! Thank you for your support of our school through this wonderful program.

Important Shadow Day Opportunities - Be a Saint for the Day!

What makes our Catholic School so special? Well, pass the word  — now’s the time to take advantage of a day just for prospective families. You can see first-hand how daily prayer and a faith-based, exceptional academic education can enrich each child’s learning experience.
We welcome prospective students to shadow and "Be a Saint for a Day". Prospective students in kindergarten through eighth grade can spend the day attending academic and special classes along with lunch and recess, or are welcome to just participate for an hour or two. Parents are welcome to join in the shadow as well, or just join us for a school tour.
To schedule a visit, please contact the school at 662-3712.

Important Financial Assistance for 2019-20

The State of Illinois Invest In Kids scholarship program is entering its second year. This is a quick update to let you know that you can apply online for scholarships beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15. They are awarded based on need and order into the system.

All of the information need is found on the Empower Illinois website. Scholarship-specific information is found under the "Students" tab.

Please continue to take the time to talk to your Pastor about your particular financial situation. You should also apply for the Spalding Scholarship and other financial assistance through FACTS Grant & Aid. The deadline for those forms is April 15 to allow time for notification of an Invest In Kids scholarship.

We will have more information available in the coming weeks as we roll out registration materials for the 2019-2020 school year.

On behalf of the faith and education community of Corpus Christi, welcome to our website and welcome home to your school.  Please take a walk around our website, contact us and take a walk around our school.  See the difference and believe.

"Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived . . . Your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust, and loyalty in your school and educational programs, and as they learn to trust all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ."
Saint Pope John Paul II

When parents choose a Catholic School for their children, it sets their children apart as a family so committed to their children's education that they are ready to make extraordinary sacrifices. Parents, by making the sacrifice necessary to send their children to Catholic school, show them education is a high priority. Catholic schools provide a loving, loyal environment where the entire community of parents, teachers, students, and parish is committed to academic and personal success.
