Confirmation Service Hours
Preparations for the Sacrament of Confirmation take place during seventh and eighth grades. All seventh graders are required to do a minimum of 24 service hours for religion class. This is part of their preparation for Confirmation, but also is an excellent practice for any student.
Every Confirmation Candidate must complete 24 service hours, including 6 hours in each of the four following categories: Community, Parish, School, and Home. The first 16 hours must be completed by the end of the second trimester on Friday, February 23, 2018. The remaining 8 hours will need to be completed by Monday, May 7, 2018.
For a detailed explanation of the requirements for service hours, click on the following link: Service Hours Requirements
How to turn in your service hours: There is a process to turning in your service hours. See the following information to learn more about the process.
A copy of the Service Hour Slips for recording service hours and getting signatures can be downloaded below. Service hour slips should be taken to the event where the candidate volunteers so that a signature from the supervisor can be obtained.
All candidates should keep a record of all of their service hours completed for their own reference. A service hour record log is attached below as well as a sample demonstrating how to fill out the log.
Students will need to fill out their log as they complete service hours. Once they are finished with all of their service hours, they will submit the log and their service hours slips in an envelope with their name on it which will be given to them during religion class and kept in the classroom for them to come and update as needed.
Mass and Spiritual Formation
Families and friends are invited to join us at 2:00 on Wednesday afternoons as we celebrate Mass. In addition to weekly Mass, students participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the seasons of advent and lent. Our junior high students have the opportunity to join our elementary students to celebrate Mass throughout the school year. Our students participate in a variety of ways during Mass. Students who have been trained as altar servers also serve the morning parish Mass and other liturgical celebrations at Holy Trinity Church.
Homework Due 8/18: Brown paper bag: Please decorate and put three things in your bag that represent your Faith, Family, and Friends.
