This is my 15th year teaching at Corpus Christi!

My husband's name is Jake and we have two daughters and one son.  Addison is nine years old, Delaney is six and Zane is three years old.  We also have a very playful Chocolate Lab named Heisman.

Can you believe this...I actually went to this very school when I was little!  I went to Holy Trinity K-8 and then to Central Catholic High School.  It is a great place to be!

I love going to the park with my family, playing tennis, watching football, reading and of course TEACHING!!

Class Rules

  • Be kind to others
  • Listen while others are talking
  • Always raise your hand
  • Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
  • Always do your best work
  • Encourage others to do their best

 Classroom Management System

Students receive a gold ticket each day.  After earning 10 gold tickets, students can redeem a prize/reward and will receive a certificate to take home to share the good news!  Students also have the opportunity to earn a "sparkle ticket" during the day.  These may be handed out for going above and beyond expected classroom behavior.  If a student earns a sparkle ticket, they will receive a pride bracelet to wear home that day.  Students may lose a ticket as a consequence for their behavior in the classroom. If a student loses 2 or more tickets in one day, a note will be sent home to parents to sign and return.

Weekly homework will come home in a folder on Monday and is due back Friday, unless it is a short week.

  • Read, Read, Read! Be sure to read to your child each night. Have your child read to you as well. Read the books made in class- they have rhyme, sight words, and predictable text. Also, we will send home some decodable books from our reading series.
  • Read the “sentence practice” sheets that are sent home. Save these!
  • We will send skills practice sheets home each week. We keep track of returned homework and students may earn a small reward!
  • Use letters to check for alphabet recognition, letter sounds, and phonics.
  • Help your child develop good fine motor skills by practicing writing, coloring, and cutting at home. Forming the letters is very difficult and often need extra one-on-one practice.
  • Playing cards, dice, dominos, etc., all are great ways to develop number recognition and early problem solving skills.
